Revenue Reset

2 min read

Here's a question I've been asking leaders lately: if you had to build your revenue strategy for 2027 from scratch, would you build it the way you're running it today?

For most, the honest answer is no. And that gap between the plan on paper and the business actually running underneath it is worth paying attention to.

Over the past several years, our industry has added new platforms, new technology, new product lines, and more ways to reach a customer than anyone could have predicted a decade ago. The opportunities have grown. The problem is, sellers haven't kept pace with them.

Most sellers are still trained to sell what's in front of them: one product, one pitch, one line item at a time. They're not trained to look across everything available and build something specific to the client sitting across the table. So the opportunities pile up, and the pitch stays exactly the same.

That's the real riddle the industry has been trying to solve. Not "how do we get more products," we've clearly solved that one, but "how do we get sellers to combine what we already have into something a client can't get anywhere else."

The idea behind the Revenue Reset

The Revenue Reset is built around one idea: the companies that win in 2027 will be the ones whose sellers know how to connect the dots, uncover the real opportunity, and build a solution that's genuinely customized, not just a bundle of whatever happened to be on the rate card.

That shift, from leading with products to leading with recommendations, is the whole game. It's the difference between a seller who reads off a menu and one who diagnoses a problem first and builds the answer second.

This is all-new content, built specifically for where the business is right now, not a refresh of a deck from five years ago. It's built for every seller, manager, leader, and owner who has to hit a number in a market that looks nothing like it did a few years back.

Where to start

If you're already planning next year's sales meeting or leadership event, the best time to have this conversation is now, before the agenda is locked and before the budget is spent on something safer and less useful.

My 2027 calendar is already starting to fill. If the Revenue Reset sounds like what your team needs heading into next year, call me at 270-646-7279 or reach out to get your dates on the calendar.
