Life's Short, Make Everyday Gameday!

I was in Nebraska last week working with the Nebraska Broadcasters Association. As I often do when on the road, I woke up early and went for a run to get my blood pumping and the day kickstarted. During my run I came across Memorial Stadium. This is the historic home of the Nebraska Cornhuskers football team. I knew I was running around a special place, but a message over one entrance to the stadium stuck with me. It read "Through these gates pass the greatest fans in college football."

As I continued my run, I kept wondering if it were really true. Is it possible they truly are the game's greatest fans? Later that day I got to witness the passion everyone there had for the Huskers. They are certainly a passionate fan base, but an even more passionate group of people, period.

I kept picturing them entering each game and imagined the energy, passion and excitement they all would possess. I know this is true for all fans and their favorite team.

It also made me ponder what our jobs, and even our lives, would be like if we took the same approach to each day. How much more productive would we be? How much more successful would we be? How much more grateful would we be? How much happier would we be?

I know, I know! There's no way everyday can be great, but what if it could. Should we try? Are we willing to change our approach?

I'll try! Will you? Let us go get as excited about life each day as we do about game day. We just might enjoy more victories!
