This morning I met someone at the gym who left me questioning what people see when they meet me. You see, this gentleman was full of life. He was full of energy. He engaged those around him and showed an interest in each and every person.
As I was getting off one machine he was standing nearby. I just said, "Good morning. How are you?" He said, "I'm pretty good for an old man." I replied with, "You sure look like you are doing good to me." He then told me he was 67 and about to turn 68, but worked out so he could feel like he was 45-50. We exchanged a couple more pleasantries and went about our business.
I kept working out with this guy on my mind. I loved his spirit, his passion for life and his interest in those around him.
As I was leaving the gym we ran into to each other. I said, "Have a great day." and his response was impactful. He said "Just watch me, I'll show you how!" He challenged me to think about me. Today, I challenge you to think about you. Are you infectious? Do you have a passion for life that draws people in and makes them want to be around you? Are you showing an interest in others or only consumed with yourself? Do you set an example of how to have a great day?
It doesn't matter how old you are. It doesn't matter how young you are. It doesn't matter how successful you are or how much money you make. You can always keep striving to be better, to do better and to be more infectious. Life's too short not to be all in and full speed!
This gentleman reminded me how to live life and have a great day. Now it's my turn to go show others! Will you join me?
